Fuel committees and Fuel Consortiums

Having been on the fuel committees for the Canadian Fuel Consortiums, we have a unique insight into how the largest airlines in the world, work together to cause a system to be in place at the largest Canadian airports, that will ensure the lowest possible prices for jet fuel receipt, storage and dispersal. We offer to represent clients at those meetings and we can help explain the actions of the fuel committees to the airline management.

Airport fuel systems and airport market placement

How is it possible that airports do not understand the fuel price or the fuel system on their own property? Well, most of the airline tenants don't understand it fully either. We will undertake to review an airport's market stance in terms of pricing, fuel availability, and alternate sources....also included, we will look at the fuel distribution at the airport and then....explain it all to the Board.

From time spent on the fuel committees, we have seen how to economize facilities for the benefit of all the airlines coming to the airport which is good for the airport. From desperation caused by fuel outages, we know how to expand our vision to find alternatives for supply and that sometimes keeps the airport open

Tax tables

For a jet fuel seller to be competitive, they have to recognize that taxes for a critical part of that determination. If one reseller was to sell fully taxed fuel and let the airline client recover the taxes and another reseller was exempting the airline client at time of sale- that is up to a US$.40 per USG bias against the fully taxed reseller. That is not going to get a lot of business.

So, the reseller sells exempt....that simply pushes the responsibility of filing for recovery back onto the reseller, instead of the airline. We can and do assist resellers with registrations, country set up and post-sale recovery
